Hi David - I am not a big steampunk fan but I really enjoyed the idea of the circus animals being animatronics (or whatever the steam-driven analog is). And a good ending with the young girl getting the opportunity to join the circus. Not sure about the surprise return of the mother in the last bit but overall a very enjoyable story.
